The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sonnen moves into the clinch.
Sonnen lands an elbow inside that Yashigawa shrugs off.

It looks like Koyomuki Yashigawa has been cut.
Yashigawa drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sonnen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Sonnen is looking to clinch.

Yashigawa tries to keep at a distance but Sonnen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sonnen gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Yashigawa tries for a takedown. No joy.
Yashigawa wants a takedown but no success here.

Sonnen comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Sonnen has Yashigawa pressed against the cage. He pushes Yashigawa back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Sonnen throws a beautiful elbow that sends Yashigawa crashing to the floor! Sonnen piles on the pressure with more strikes! Yashigawa is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
