PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vitor Belfort (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zhu Fangyu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belfort comes to the cage accompanied by Simple Man. Fangyu is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Demigod-Mindmasher. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Fangyu.
Fangyu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Belfort momentarily.
Belfort walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Fangyu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Belfort is fighting off a takedown attempt but Fangyu is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Belfort to the mat. Belfort regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Fangyu is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Belfort on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Belfort tries to get out of the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Zhu Fangyu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Belfort crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Fangyu - the referee stops the clock and Belfort gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Fangyu. Belfort manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Fangyu sets himself and throws a head kick that knocks Belfort to the ground! Fangyu dives into full mount looking to finish!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Belfort tries to lock up and control but Fangyu gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Belfort tries to clinch up but Fangyu pushes him back against the cage and lands another monster strike that crumples Belfort to the mat! Belfort covers up and Fangyu unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
