The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mkgee shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Kassler is trying to defend but Mkgee finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Kassler kicks Mkgee off and gets back to his feet.
Mads Soren Kassler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kassler fails with the takedown
and Mkgee counters with a single leg into guard. Kassler didn't expect that.
Mkgee drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kassler looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kassler looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kassler!

Kassler is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Mkgee's shoulder. That is not cool.
Kassler tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
You can see the frustration on Mkgee's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Mkgee prevents Kassler from moving into mount.
Mkgee parries the strikes from Kassler easily there. Kassler is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Mkgee to escape.
Mkgee can't do much from the bottom here.
Mkgee wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Kassler has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Mkgee's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Mkgee is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Kassler!
