The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendor thumps Avloce with a low kick.
Avloce takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Avloce swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Mendor goes for a high kick. It partially lands.

It looks like Frainkie Avloce has been cut.
Avloce takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Mendor buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Mendor tries to close the distance and clinch but Avloce swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mendor swings for the body but Avloce moves out of range.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Avloce defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Mendor.
Avloce rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mendor moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Avloce on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Avloce chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Mendor can pounce on him.
Mendor tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Avloce manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Avloce crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Mendor - the referee stops the clock and Avloce gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Mendor. Avloce manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Mendor throws a sloppy head kick and Avloce moves out of range easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Mendor looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mendor scores with a head kick. Avloce tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Avloce's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Mendor has closed the distance and engaged Avloce in a clinch.
Mendor jumps guard but Avloce turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Mendor lands with a kick to the temple. Avloce shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Avloce throws a nice looking combination but Mendor bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Mendor lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Mendor shoots in for a takedown but Avloce shows good takedown defense.
Avloce throws a series of punches but Mendor avoids them all with ease.
Avloce will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Mendor tries to score a power double leg takedown but Avloce sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mendor somewhat.
That kick from Mendor tenderised Avloce's leg. Avloce is trying to keep his angry face on.

Avloce tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Mendor scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Avloce tries to sprawl but Mendor drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mendor looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mendor is trying to control. Avloce wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Mendor thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Avloce's head.
Mendor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mendor looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Avloce with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
