And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Esra Pound!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McIanson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pound counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Pound fails with an attempt to clinch.
No joy there for McIanson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Pound scores with a sloppy right hand. McIanson should have avoided that one.
McIanson slips a jab from Pound.
Good shot there by Pound.
Pound misses the shot to the body.

Pound is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in McIanson's half guard.

Pound throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
McIanson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
McIanson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McIanson falls off balance throwing a combination
and McIanson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pound tries to clinch but McIanson moves out of range.
A looping hook to the body misses from Pound. McIanson does a little dance to reset his feet.

Pound dives in and scores a takedown into McIanson's guard.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pound throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

and Pound counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
McIanson has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
McIanson bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Ian McIanson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
McIanson moves out of range of the body kick from Pound.
McIanson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Ian McIanson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
McIanson misses with a combination
and Pound counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Pound throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck McIanson on the side of the head.

McIanson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Pound is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Oh McIanson is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Pound tries to clinch but McIanson is having none of it.
Pound thows a body shot but no joy.
McIanson seems to have got his legs back now.
McIanson misses with a combination
and Pound connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Pound lands a right hook to the body.
McIanson ducks under a wild hook from Pound.

Pound closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pound is trying to work for a kimura but McIanson is defending well.
Pound wants to stand but his hand is trapped. McIanson uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pound accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Pound scoring with some ground and pound.
McIanson wants to sweep but no luck.
Pound throws and elbow that misses. McIanson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pound's guard. Nice move by McIanson!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Esra Pound showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Pound throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent McIanson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Esra Pound seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pound tries to close the distance and clinch up but McIanson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
McIanson shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Pound lands a nice hook to McIanson's body. McIanson takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

and Pound counters with a series of strikes. McIanson will be more careful next time no doubt.

and Pound counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Esra Pound is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

McIanson is working an open guard so Pound takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pound fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pound swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Pound throws a series of punches but McIanson avoids them all with ease.
Esra Pound seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pound tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pound has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
McIanson swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pound counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Esra Pound comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pound has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
