Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Markus Corriveau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cody Main!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Main gets a takedown into half guard.
Main is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Main slows the pace down in half guard.
Main throws a strike but Corriveau avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Corriveau keeping moving, preventing Main from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Main stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Corriveau swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Main trying to control but Corriveau is working from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Main looking to pass the guard.
Corriveau might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Main won't allow Corriveau to get back to his feet.
Main wants to pass the guard but Corriveau is keeping the position.
Main connects with a couple of short punches.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Main stands and throws Corriveau's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Main is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Corriveau has escaped the position, nice work there.
Main trying to control the action but Corriveau is working from the bottom.

Main tries for a kimura but Corriveau is defending well.
Corriveau parries the strikes from Main easily there. Main is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Corriveau to escape.
Corriveau is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Main is looking to take a break and control but Corriveau is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Main is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Corriveau is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Main passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Corriveau!

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Main is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Corriveau can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Main looking to isolate an arm here. Corriveau doesn't see it coming and as Main extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Main!
