The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
van Bommel avoids the head kick by Kurmotus.
van Bommel looks to throw the jab but Kurmotus is out of range.

and Kurmotus counters by moving into the clinch.
Kurmotus jumps guard but van Bommel stands there with Kurmotus around his waist. Kurmotus gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
van Bommel is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Kurmotus tries to pull guard but van Bommel holds him up against the cage and eventually Kurmotus drops back down to his feet.
Kurmotus jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as van Bommel walks away with a smile on his face. Kurmotus gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Mark van Bommel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Taisto Kurmotus.
