PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Lawrence (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hosking comes to the ring accompanied by War Machine. Daniel Lawrence will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawrence tries to close the distance and clinch but Hosking swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lawrence misses with an uppercut. Hosking saw that one coming.

Hosking has closed the distance and engaged Lawrence in a clinch.

Hosking has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Lawrence clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Lawrence is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Matthew Hosking wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Hosking gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hosking gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Lawrence regains guard.
Hosking stands and throws Lawrence's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Hosking decides to stand up, so the ref orders Lawrence to his feet.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Hosking keeps control of Lawrence as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lawrence is trying to break the clinch but Hosking has him pressed against the ropes.

Lawrence looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Hosking tightens his grip and picks Lawrence up, before dumping him to the ground. Lawrence manages to land in guard.
Hosking seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Matthew Hosking.
Lawrence avoids a punch combination nicely.

Lawrence tries to break free but Hosking pushes him back against the ropes.

With the fighters clinched against the ropes, Hosking creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Lawrence wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hosking has him pressed against the ropes.

Hosking can't find room to land a body shot as Lawrence controls the action.

Hosking breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hosking stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Hosking throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lawrence tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hosking is in Lawrence's guard.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hosking's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Hosking is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hosking pushing down on Lawrence's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Hosking looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Hosking decides to return to a standing position.

Hosking throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Lawrence was covering up waiting for the punch and Hosking finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hosking lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Hosking slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lawrence is looking to stand up but Hosking isn't so interested in that idea.
Hosking advances to half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hosking works his foot free and advances to mount.
Hosking scoring with strikes but Lawrence is staying in there.

It looks like Daniel Lawrence has been cut.
Hosking takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hosking scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Lawrence is still in real trouble! Can Hosking finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!

Lawrence seems to have recovered his senses.

Hosking working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Lawrence turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hosking off and cradles Lawrence's limp body as Hosking celebrates with his corner.
