Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Snapfish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kris Spade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spade is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Final Countdown - Europe. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Snapfish!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kris Spade!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snapfish fails with a takedown attempt.
Snapfish is looking to clinch but Spade is avoiding it.
Snapfish will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Snapfish swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Snapfish tries for a takedown but Spade sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Snapfish looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snapfish moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Spade has worked his arm free - good work by Spade!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Snapfish is breathing heavily.
Spade tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Snapfish wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

I wouldn't like to be where Spade is right now.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Spade can do anything to dispel that myth.

You can see the frustration on Spade's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Snapfish looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Spade tries to buck Snapfish off but Snapfish is having none of it.
What's Spade going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Snapfish tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Spade paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Snapfish shoots in for a double leg but Spade sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Spade decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Snapfish, up you get!

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Spade in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Snapfish is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Snapfish passes the guard and advances to mount!

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Snapfish had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Spade is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Snapfish Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Spade's back instead.

Let's hope that Spade has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Spade's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kris Spade showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Spade takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Snapfish tries to roll over but Spade keeps him under control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Snapfish looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Spade is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Snapfish wants to control but Spade is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Snapfish escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spade gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Kris Spade comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Spade has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
