The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Hirohito Nitta and Shigeki Fujiwara.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Gay One throws a head kick that misses
and Ripken Jr cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Ripken Jr rushes The Gay One and presses him up against the cage.
The Gay One goes for a takedown attempt but Ripken Jr pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Ripken Jr lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as The Gay One backs up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The Gay One misses with a head kick.
The Gay One tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ripken Jr is able to avoid easily.
A clash of legs there as Ripken Jr blocks the low kick.
The Gay One throws a sloppy head kick
and Ripken Jr counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Ripken Jr fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The Gay One is breathing heavily.
The Gay One takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ripken Jr is looking to slow The Gay One down with leg kicks.

Ripken Jr moves into range and clinches up with The Gay One.
The Gay One takes a knee right on the jaw!

Ripken Jr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Ripken Jr clinches.

Ripken Jr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ripken Jr scores with a kick to the midsection.
Ripken Jr steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! The Gay One is out on his feet! Ripken Jr sets himself and nearly takes The Gay One's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
