PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kuula Kallo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Hartmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Felix Hartmann was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kuula Kallo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Felix Hartmann!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Yamamoto and Hirohito Nitta.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kallo plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Hartmann misses with a low kick.
Hartmann tries a head kick but it misses.
Kallo tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Kallo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hartmann can pounce on him.

Kallo closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hartmann to the mat! Hartmann manages to get full guard.
Hartmann wants to stand but Kallo is controlling the position.

Hartmann shoots in looking for a takedown. Kallo tries to sprawl out of it but Hartmann keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kallo manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kallo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hartmann walks away with a smile on his face. Kallo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Kallo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hartmann pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Kallo creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Hartmann's defenses.
Hartmann has had enough of the clinch but Kallo keeps him there for the moment.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hartmann makes his way to full guard, as Kallo worked for a kimura.
Kallo wants to stand and escape but instead Hartmann has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hartmann gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Kallo tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Hartmann manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Kallo tries a low kick but Hartmann avoids it.
Hartmann thumps Kallo with a low kick.
Hartmann shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kallo but Kallo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kallo is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Kallo drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kallo wants to take a breather but Hartmann manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Kallo.
Kallo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hartmann swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kallo won't allow Hartmann to get back to his feet.
Kallo controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Kallo loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Kallo is stalling here. Hartmann is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Kallo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Hartmann has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Hartmann decides to stand back up. Hartmann steps back and let's Kallo get back to his feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Hartmann lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kallo has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kallo and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Kuula Kallo.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kallo, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
