Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Osulep Lig (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Toscano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Toscano has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Osulep Lig's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Osulep Lig!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Toscano!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lig shoots in and drives through. Toscano sprawls well.
Lig looks to land a body kick but Toscano moved away.
Lig moves out of range of the leg kick from Toscano.
Toscano throws a big shot that misses.
Lig connects with a single shot there.
Lig throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lig pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Lig shoots in and drives through. Toscano sprawls well.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lig shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Osulep Lig. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Toscano takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lig fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Toscano looks to score with a jab to the body but Lig is just out of range.
Toscano throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Lig throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Toscano tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lig is in Toscano's guard.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lig keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Toscano's head.

Lig got a little sloppy there for a moment and Toscano has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lig has managed to get both his arms back between Toscano's legs - danger averted.

Toscano has his foot on Lig's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Lig works his way back into a safe position though.

Lig thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Lig's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Toscano throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lig escapes and throws Toscano's legs to the side, diving into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Toscano throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.

Lig tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Toscano really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lig. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Lig tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Lig has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Lig is controlling the pace.
Lig has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lig is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lig is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Lig is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Toscano is just riding it out for now. Lig eventually gives up the hold.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Toscano stuffs the takedown.

No luck for Lig with that takedown attempt.
Toscano throws a hook but Lig avoids it easily.
Lig misses with a hook. Toscano ducked under it nicely.
Lig takes a swing at Toscano's ribcage but misses.

Lig shoots in for a double leg but Toscano sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Toscano throws a sloppy head kick and Lig moves out of range easily.
Lig defending well as Toscano loads up on a big left hand.
Toscano moves out of range of the body kick from Lig.
Lig throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Lig tries to clinch up but Toscano circles away and keeps his distance.
Lig throws a hook but Toscano blocks it.
Lig misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lig misses with a head kick.
James Toscano is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lig with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Toscano to score with a decent uppercut.

Lig tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Toscano paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Toscano misses with the combination.
Osulep Lig seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lig looks to score with a jab to the body but Toscano is just out of range.
Lig has a takedown stuffed.
Lig shoots in looking for a takedown but Toscano manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Lig's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Osulep Lig will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


The crowd cheers as Toscano lands an impressive looking overhand right. Lig doesn't seem phased though.
Toscano stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lig misses with a hook
and Lig takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Toscano scoring well with a low kick there.
Lig tries to clinch but Toscano moves away
and Toscano counters with a left to the body.
Lig takes a swing at Toscano's ribcage but misses.
Nice takedown defense from Toscano. No joy for Lig on that attempt.

Lig throws out a loose jab but Toscano uses good head movement to avoid it.
Toscano avoids the head kick by Lig.
Lig throws a shot from downtown. Toscano moves away and avoids it.
Lig looks to throw the jab but Toscano is out of range.
Toscano blocks a jab.
James Toscano seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Lig moves forwards but Toscano connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Lig throws a looping overhand right but Toscano ducks down to avoid it.

A decent looking cross lands there for Toscano.
Toscano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Lig closes the distance and clinches up with Toscano, looking for a takedown. Lig pushes Toscano against the cage but Toscano circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Toscano stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Toscano wants it to stay on the feet.
Lig throws a hook but Toscano avoids it easily.
Osulep Lig is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

James Toscano comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Lig has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
