PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tito Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Kshymensky (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kshymensky is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by let it rock . The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tito Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jesse Kshymensky!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Stewart Dunkirk and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kshymensky paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tito Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kshymensky will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Kshymensky fails with the takedown.
Horrible takedown by Johnson or perhaps it was just good defense by Kshymensky which made him look bad.
Johnson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kshymensky moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Kshymensky takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Kshymensky shoots in.

Kshymensky gets the takedown into side control.
Johnson is not content to let Kshymensky control the position.
Johnson is trying to improve his position.
Kshymensky is looking to take a break and control but Johnson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnson is breathing heavily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Johnson throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Kshymensky scores with a kick to the body.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Kshymensky feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Kshymensky changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Johnson doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Kshymensky tries to free his leg and advance position but Johnson is retaining full guard.
Johnson is controlling Kshymensky's posture.
Johnson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kshymensky is controlling him.
Johnson trying to keep a closed guard but Kshymensky is proving a slippery customer.

Johnson manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Johnson throws a head kick that half lands.
Johnson throws a head kick but Kshymensky moves out of range.
Johnson lands the left hand.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Johnson lands a with a good body shot.
Johnson misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kshymensky takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Johnson clinches with his opponent.
Johnson fails to pull guard.
Johnson tries to break the clinch but Kshymensky is controlling the position.

Kshymensky jumps guard.
Kshymensky bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Johnson's guard.

Kshymensky wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Kshymensky pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Johnson is keeping the position for now.
Kshymensky working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kshymensky passes Johnson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Kshymensky decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Kshymensky has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Tito Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Kshymensky.
Kshymensky is looking to clinch.
Kshymensky misses with a takedown attempt - Johnson sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Johnson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Johnson misses with a wild body shot.
Johnson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kshymensky shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kshymensky won't allow Johnson to get back to his feet.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tito Johnson will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Johnson with a lazy takedown attempt

and Kshymensky counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Johnson is staying active underneath Kshymensky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are battling for position here. Johnson manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Johnson is trying to control the position but Kshymensky postures up.
Johnson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kshymensky won't allow Johnson to pass to mount.

Johnson decides to return to a standing position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Johnson throws a right and a left that Kshymensky avoids nicely.

Kshymensky moves out of range of the strikes.
Kshymensky shoots in for a takedown but Johnson shows good takedown defense.
Kshymensky fails with a takedown attempt.
Tito Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jesse Kshymensky.
Johnson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kshymensky tries to avoid it but Johnson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kshymensky to the ground. Kshymensky escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tito Johnson will probably get the nod.

Kshymensky fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Johnson sprawls well initially but Kshymensky persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Johnson is staying active underneath Kshymensky, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kshymensky postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Kshymensky wants to control from the top but Johnson keeps moving.
Johnson is looking to stand back up but Kshymensky counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Johnson.

Kshymensky sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Johnson's guard.

Johnson is looking to clinch.
Kshymensky throws an overhand right that lands on Johnson's shoulder, as Johnson tries to avoid the shot.
Tito Johnson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Kshymensky, looking for a takedown. Johnson pushes Kshymensky against the cage but Kshymensky circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Johnson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Johnson throws a sloppy head kick and Kshymensky moves out of range easily.
Johnson tries to bum rush Kshymensky with a series of wild strikes but Kshymensky uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kshymensky bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Kshymensky fails to land the takedown.

Kshymensky gets caught flat footed, as Johnson shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Kshymensky wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Kshymensky is looking for a triangle here but Johnson uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Jesse Kshymensky comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Johnson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
