PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Didell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vincent Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Volkov has chosen The Trooper by Iron Maiden as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Vincent Volkov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov looks to throw the jab but Didell is out of range.
Volkov walks forward, straight into a front kick from Didell.
Didell digs a good hook to Volkov's body.
Volkov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Didell.
Volkov slips under a jab.
Didell defending well as Volkov loads up on a big left hand.
Volkov misses with a wild body shot.
Volkov takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Didell motions for Volkov to come forward. Didell throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

Good leg kick by Didell there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Didell fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Volkov has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Didell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Volkov circles away quickly and effectively.

Chuck Didell is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Didell tries to clinch up but Volkov circles away and keeps his distance.
Didell is looking to wear down Volkov with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Didell fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Volkov checks it well.

Volkov throws an overhand right that lands on Didell's shoulder, as Didell tries to avoid the shot.
Volkov sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Didell looks to score with a jab to the body but Volkov is just out of range.
Volkov takes a body punch but keeps moving.
A nice inside leg kick there by Didell. That's going to slow Volkov down.
Didell lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Didell tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Volkov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chuck Didell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vincent Volkov.
Didell takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Volkov tries to land a front kick but Didell steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Volkov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Didell pinned against the cage. Didell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Didell lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Volkov connects with a high kick.
Volkov takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Didell swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Didell stuffs the takedown attempt from Volkov. Volkov gets slowly back to his feet.
Didell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Volkov. Volkov circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Volkov's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Didell thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Volkov if he has to take too many more of those.

Volkov has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Didell.

Volkov is trying desperately to land a takedown but Didell is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Volkov.
