Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kris Kringle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Decan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kris Kringle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Decan!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Alyssa Summers and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decan throws a sloppy head kick and Kringle moves out of range easily.
Kringle doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Decan counters with a body kick that stops Kringle in his tracks momentarily.
Kringle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Decan but Decan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kringle shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Decan as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kris Kringle. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kringle takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Decan avoids a punch combination nicely.
Decan lands a head kick. Kringle smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Kringle shoots and misses
and Decan counters with a right hand to the body.
Decan misses with a double jab.
Kringle is looking to clinch but Decan is avoiding it.
Decan's corner calls for a 1-2. Decan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Decan slips a jab and a cross from Kringle.
Kringle fails with the takedown
and Decan makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Kringle really felt that one!

Kringle is breathing heavily.

Kringle closes the distance and clinches.
Kringle tries a knee to the head but Decan blocks it.
Decan is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Decan has Kringle pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kringle manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Decan jumps into guard, dragging Kringle to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Decan is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Kringle is controlling him.

Decan is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kringle tries to free his leg and advance position but Decan is retaining full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kringle accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Decan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Decan lands a high kick!

Kringle throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Decan tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Kringle is in Decan's guard.
Kringle trying to control the position from guard on top but Decan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Decan wants to stand and escape but Kringle is having none of it.
Kringle is looking to work some ground and pound but Decan has wrist control.
Kringle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Kringle won't allow Decan to get back to his feet.

Decan pushes Kringle off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kringle blocks a head kick by Decan.
Kringle shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Decan counters with a series of strikes. Kringle will be more careful next time no doubt.
Kringle tries for a takedown but Decan circles away easily
and Decan counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kringle is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kris Kringle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kringle has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Decan.
Decan swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kringle counters by moving into the clinch.

Decan turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Decan manages to end up in side control.

Decan has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Decan fails to land with a series of punches.
Decan feints a jab promting Kringle to slip. Decan then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kringle slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Decan dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Decan throws a push kick but Kringle slaps the foot to one side.
Kringle dives in and grabs Decan's left leg, looking for a takedown. Decan pushes down on Kringle's head and hops out.

Kringle has Decan pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Decan manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Kringle will be looking to protect his midsection after taking some solid kicks to the body.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Decan stalks Kringle and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kringle's face. Kringle staggers backwards, shaken.
Decan throws a nice looking combination but Kringle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Kringle looks for a takedown but Decan sprawls well.
Kringle fails with a takedown attempt.

I've got Decan winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
