The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ty sprawls well. Ty wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Overeem gets slowly back to his feet.

Ty closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Overeem to the mat! Overeem manages to get full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Overeem lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ty!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ty wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Overeem.
Overeem has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ty tries to hold on but Overeem postures up.

Overeem working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Overeem avoids the attempt from Ty to control.

Overeem lands a big elbow.
Ty is trying to escape the mount.

Overeem with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Overeem wants to control the pace but Ty is squirming around nicely.
Overeem tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ty tries to improve his position but instead Overeem has taken his back!
I really don't envy Ty right now.
Overeem doesn't have the hooks in and Ty manages to turn into his guard.

Ty gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ty misses with a wild combination.

Ty closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Overeem sneaks back into half guard.
Ty is keen to just control but Overeem is a slippery customer.
Overeem might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Overeem kicks Ty off and gets back to his feet.

Overeem has managed to clinch.
Overeem taking a breather.
Overeem leaning his opponent against the cage.
Ty lands a shoulder strike.

Ty has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Ty breaks the clinch.

Ty gets the takedown into side control.
Ty wants to control but Overeem is keeping him busy.
Overeem sneaks back into half guard.
Ty looks to land a strike but Overeem avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Overeem escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ty gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ty trying to stand up but can't free himself from Overeem's guard.

Ty stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Overeem throws up his legs and catches Ty in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Ty tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Overeem! That came out of nowhere!
