Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mauricio Ricardo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fungus Mcanus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo comes to the ring accompanied by Here Comes. Mcanus has chosen Gubben i Lådan as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcanus stalks Ricardo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ricardo's face. Ricardo staggers backwards, shaken.
Mcanus displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Mcanus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ricardo misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mcanus tried to score with a low kick but Ricardo checks it.
Mcanus lands a two punch combo.

Mcanus shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Ricardo's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Mcanus tries to stand but Ricardo is controlling from the bottom.

Ricardo had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcanus defends it easily.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Mcanus gets to his feet - Ricardo follows without any prompting.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ricardo.
Mcanus throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Mcanus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mcanus scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mauricio Ricardo. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Mcanus connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Mcanus closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mcanus seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ricardo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ricardo has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Mcanus. Oh but Ricardo has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Mcanus goes limp - he's gone! Ricardo jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
