Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Peter Dobbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Juho Pennanen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Dobbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Juho Pennanen!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dobbs shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pennanen tries to hold on but Dobbs postures up.
Pennanen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dobbs. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pennanen stops Dobbs from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Pennanen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dobbs content just to control the position here.
Pennanen is trying to stand.
Dobbs trying to control but Pennanen is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Dobbs is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pennanen is surviving well by controlling Dobbs's body position as best he can.
Pennanen stops Dobbs from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Dobbs is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Pennanen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Dobbs is breathing heavily.
Pennanen tries to lock up and control but Dobbs gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Dobbs jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Pennanen manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Dobbs decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Pennanen moves into range and clinches up with Dobbs.
Pennanen drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dobbs pulls his leg out and moves away.

Dobbs fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pennanen sprawls well initially but Dobbs persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Dobbs is controlling the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dobbs works his way into side control.

Dobbs wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pennanen, who protects the arm well.

Dobbs working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Dobbs is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pennanen knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Pennanen takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Dobbs throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Pennanen wants to get back to his feet.
Pennanen stops Dobbs from passing to mount.
Pennanen is not content to let Dobbs control the position.

Dobbs takes a little break here. Pennanen wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dobbs changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pennanen tries to avoid it but Dobbs manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pennanen to the ground. Pennanen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Pennanen feints and as Dobbs raises his hands in defense, Pennanen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Pennanen fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Dobbs looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pennanen fails in his attempt to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Dobbs. No joy for Pennanen on that attempt.
Dobbs lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Pennanen tries to keep at a distance but Dobbs has taken the fight into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Dobbs just misses with a elbow thrown towards Pennanen's brow.
Dobbs prevents a takedown attempt there.

Dobbs manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Dobbs is on top in guard.
Dobbs postures up in Pennanen's guard and throws a big left but Pennanen blocks it.
Dobbs is fighting to break Pennanen's control of his arms but Pennanen is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Dobbs prevents Pennanen from getting back to his feet.

Dobbs thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Dobbs postures up in Pennanen's guard and throws a big left but Pennanen blocks it.
Dobbs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pennanen's guard.

Dobbs is looking for a kimura here.
Pennanen is trying to maintain the position but Dobbs is very close to passing his half guard.
Pennanen is trying to get back to full guard.
Dobbs is thwarting Pennanen's attempts to control the position.
Dobbs is looking to take a break and control but Pennanen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Dobbs is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Pennanen has managed to free his arm - good work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Dobbs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Pennanen keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Dobbs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Peter Dobbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Dobbs slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Pennanen tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Dobbs tries to move to mount but Pennanen blocks the move with his legs.
Pennanen is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dobbs asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Dobbs is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pennanen is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Dobbs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dobbs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Pennanen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dobbs has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Dobbs tries for a kimura but Pennanen is defending well.

Dobbs has an Americana. Pennanen didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Dobbs is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Dobbs hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
