Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Viktor Sayenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Soldadito Cojo!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Igor Prikhodko and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cojo slips under a jab.
Cojo avoids the body shot from Sayenko.
Sayenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Cojo circles away.
A looping hook to the body misses from Sayenko. Cojo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sayenko tried to score with a low kick but Cojo checks it.

Cojo throws a body punch but Sayenko moves out of range.

Cojo takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Sayenko doesn't manage to clinch there - Cojo circles away.
Cojo scores with the left hand. Sayenko knows he should have avoided that one.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Sayenko throws an overhand right that lands on Cojo's shoulder, as Cojo tries to avoid the shot.
Sayenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
The fighters circling - Cojo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

and Sayenko counters with a nice leg kick.
Cojo chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Sayenko can pounce on him.
Sayenko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Cojo.

and Sayenko counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sayenko slips a jab from Cojo.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cojo ducks under a wild hook from Sayenko.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Sayenko is looking to score with low kicks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cojo avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cojo tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sayenko was well out of range. Poor timing from Cojo.

and Cojo counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Sayenko!
Sayenko stops Cojo from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sayenko tries to hold on but Cojo pushes him away.

Sayenko tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Cojo sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Sayenko stops Cojo from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
Sayenko working to try and regain half guard.
Cojo controlling the pace for now.
Cojo trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Cojo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Sayenko can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Sayenko gets back to half guard.

Cojo seems to be looking for submissions.

Cojo is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sayenko has managed to free his arm - good work.
Sayenko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Cojo is keen to just control but Sayenko is a slippery customer.

Cojo is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Sayenko tries to roll over but Cojo keeps him under control.
Sayenko is refusing to be controlled, as Cojo sits in half guard.
Cojo is looking to advance position but Sayenko won't allow it.
Cojo is trying to control. Sayenko wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Sayenko is trying to maintain the position but Cojo is very close to passing his half guard.
Cojo stalling away here and it's allowed Sayenko to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Cojo looking to sit in guard and control but Sayenko gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Sayenko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cojo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sayenko has managed to get both his arms back between Cojo's legs - danger averted.
Cojo manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Sayenko tries to lock up and control but Cojo gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Soldadito Cojo has got the better of the ground game so far.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cojo jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sayenko is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sayenko and Cojo has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Cojo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Soldadito Cojo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Sayenko lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Sayenko misses with a wild body shot.
A jab lands there for Sayenko.
Viktor Sayenko is winning the standup battle so far.
Sayenko fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cojo has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Sayenko throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sayenko ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Cojo misses with a straight right.
Cojo has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Sayenko.
Cojo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Cojo throws out a loose jab but Sayenko uses good head movement to avoid it.
That kick from Sayenko tenderised Cojo's leg. Cojo is trying to keep his angry face on.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Cojo keeps the fight on the outside.

Sayenko throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sayenko throws a jab when Cojo was well out of range.
Sayenko with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Sayenko swings away with a body shot that misses
and Cojo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Cojo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Cojo stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Sayenko.
Soldadito Cojo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sayenko lands a nice hook to Cojo's body. Cojo takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Sayenko scores with a crisp jab that stopped Cojo in his tracks.

Sayenko moves into range and clinches up with Cojo.
Cojo fails to pull guard.
Cojo misses with the head strike.
Cojo has Sayenko pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Sayenko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Sayenko lands an uppercut.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cojo goes for a takedown in the clinch but Sayenko prevents it.
Viktor Sayenko has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Soldadito Cojo.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Cojo is trying to push Sayenko away but Sayenko has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.
