PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between David Bellamy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aang Havatar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bellamy kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is What Mama Said . Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Bellamy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Aang Havatar!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bellamy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Havatar's waist but Havatar gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Bellamy off to one side.
Havatar tries to clinch but Bellamy moves out of range.
Bellamy looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bellamy lands a slapping body shot.
Bellamy just misses with a punch to the body.
Havatar slips under a jab.

Havatar throws a shot from downtown. Bellamy moves away and avoids it.
The fight stays on the outside here - Havatar looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bellamy connects with a good right hand that stumbles Havatar. Havatar circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Bellamy lands a nice shot to the body.
A right-left combo lands from Bellamy.
Bellamy takes a swing at Havatar's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bellamy. Havatar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bellamy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bellamy bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Havatar's head backwards.
Havatar fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bellamy looks to land a right hand but Havatar moved out of range.

Havatar shoots in but Bellamy avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Havatar looks to land a left hand but Bellamy moved out of range nicely.
Bellamy on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Bellamy lands with a shot to the body.
Bellamy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Bellamy is looking to wear down Havatar with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Havatar ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Bellamy moves out of range as Havatar strikes.
Bellamy fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Havatar manages to avoid it.
Bellamy throws a low kick but Havatar avoids it.
Bellamy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Havatar as he jumps to the side.

and Bellamy counters with a stiff right hand.

Havatar misses with a hook. Bellamy ducked under it nicely.
Bellamy uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Havatar has time to react.
Bellamy changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Havatar tries to avoid it but Bellamy manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Havatar to the ground. Havatar escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Havatar avoids a punch combination nicely.

Havatar feints and as Bellamy raises his hands in defense, Havatar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Havatar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Havatar is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bellamy has escaped the position, nice work there.

Havatar is looking to take a break and control but Bellamy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bellamy manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Havatar manages to get himself to full guard.

Havatar had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bellamy defends it easily.

Havatar looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bellamy has picked Havatar up and slammed him! Havatar can't keep hold of the triangle and Bellamy manages to pass to side control!
Bellamy wants to lay and pray for a moment but Havatar keeps working.
Havatar is trying to control Bellamy's posture but Bellamy avoids it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Havatar is not content to let Bellamy control the position.
Havatar manages to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David Bellamy will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Bellamy rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Havatar moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Havatar tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bellamy manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Havatar is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bellamy is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Havatar to the mat. Havatar regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Havatar wants to sweep here but Bellamy controlling him for the moment.

David Bellamy showed his dominance in that final round.
