Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Noah Walburn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Baby Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walburn's entrance music is Flirting with Disaster. A fine choice. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Noah Walburn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Baby Jay!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walburn throws a body kick the misses
and Jay counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Walburn defending well as Jay loads up on a big left hand.
Walburn gets off balance looking for a body kick
letting Jay counter with a right hand.
A shot to the body from Walburn misses
and Jay counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Jay shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Walburn sprawls well. Walburn wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Jay gets slowly back to his feet.
Jay keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Walburn does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Walburn's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Jay connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Walburn scrambles back to his feet.
Walburn tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jay swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Walburn tries to clinch but Jay is having none of it.
Jay checks a leg kick nicely.
Walburn stuffs the takedown attempt from Jay. Jay gets slowly back to his feet.
Noah Walburn is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jay fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Walburn on the side of the head.

Walburn tries to land a front kick but Jay steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Jay is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Walburn's half guard.

and Jay counters with a shoot takedown. Walburn fights it but they end up in guard.
Jay stays in close to Walburn's body and controls the position.
Jay lands a couple of decent looking shots.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Jay is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Jay wants to control from the top but Walburn keeps moving.
Walburn utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Jay postures up in Walburn's guard and throws a big left but Walburn blocks it.
Walburn not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Walburn keeping moving, preventing Jay from controlling successfully.
Walburn wants to sweep here but Jay controlling him for the moment.

Jay is working Walburn over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jay passes Walburn's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Jay is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Walburn sees it coming and defends easily.
Jay is taking a breather. Walburn says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Walburn is looking to control Jay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Walburn avoid being mounted?
Walburn has hold of Jay's hands but Jay slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Walburn wants to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Walburn has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Jay is working away from the top position though.
Jay moves into full mount! Walburn won't be happy about that!

Baby Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Walburn moves in looking to clinch but Jay pushes him off.
Jay avoids a kick to the body.

Walburn throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Jay makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jay has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Walburn tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jay makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Noah Walburn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jay lands the left hand.
Walburn pivots, looking for a leg kick but Jay is out of range and Walburn settles back down.
Noah Walburn has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

and Jay cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Baby Jay is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Baby Jay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jay has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
