PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Remi Beauvais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gil Hernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hernandez has chosen Requiem for a Dream by Lux Aeterna as his entrance music. Gil Hernandez will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gil Hernandez!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice body punch from Hernandez.
Hernandez takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Hernandez doesn't manage to clinch there - Beauvais circles away.
Beauvais looks to land a combination but Hernandez avoids it well.
Remi Beauvais seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hernandez shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Beauvais as he jumps to the side.

Hernandez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hernandez connects with a nice short shot to Beauvais's temple.

Gil Hernandez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
