The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn missing with a left hand there. Stram was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Penn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Stram wants to clinch up but Penn keeps it at a distance.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Penn wants to control the pace but Stram is squirming around nicely.

Stram wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Penn, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Stram is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Penn is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stram is defended easily by Penn.
Penn feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Strams jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Stram fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Penn checks it well.
Penn lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Stram circles away quickly and effectively.
Penn fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Stram has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
