Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jushiro Ukitake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Awesome (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jushiro Ukitake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ukitake darts in trying to clinch

and Awesome decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ukitake's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Awesome tries to stand but Ukitake is controlling from the bottom.
Ukitake preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ukitake had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Awesome defends it easily.
Awesome stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ukitake swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Awesome is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Awesome thows a big elbow that misses.
Ukitake will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Awesome has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Ukitake is proving hard to escape from.
Ukitake not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Awesome wants to control from the top but Ukitake keeps moving.

Awesome has his foot on Ukitake's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Ukitake works his way back into a safe position though.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Awesome closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ukitake's guard.

Awesome jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Ukitake is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Ukitake and Awesome has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Ukitake shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Awesome is squirming around, avoiding Ukitake's attempts to control the action.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Awesome is trying to maintain the position but Ukitake is very close to passing his half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because Jushiro Ukitake wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Awesome closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ukitake to the mat! Ukitake manages to get full guard.
Awesome throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ukitake works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Awesome wants to pass the guard but Ukitake is keeping the position.

Awesome is taking a breather. Ukitake says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Mark Awesome has got the better of the ground game so far.

Awesome is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ukitake has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Awesome swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Ukitake is now in Awesome's guard. A big mistake from Awesome there, giving up the dominant position!
