Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oz Clarke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Movado Kenshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Oz Clarke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Movado Kenshi!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Winston Howard and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kenshi wants to clinch
and Clarke counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Kenshi looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Clarke tries to bum rush Kenshi with a series of wild strikes but Kenshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Clarke lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Kenshi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Kenshi shoots in for a takedown but Clarke shows good takedown defense.
Kenshi slips a jab and a cross from Clarke.
Clarke with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Clarke scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Clarke comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Clarke dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Clarke lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Clarke.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Clarke's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Clarke duly obliges.
Clarke lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Kenshi backs up against the cage.

A nice combination there by Clarke.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Clarke.
Clarke pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Kenshi back to the cage. Clarke follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Kenshi steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Clarke. That one must have hurt.
Clarke lands a jab-cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Clarke throws a combination. Kenshi tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Clarke throws a head kick that Kenshi semi-blocks.
Clarke connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Clarke lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
A head kick from Clarke lands but Kenshi takes it in his stride.

Clarke throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Movado Kenshi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kenshi has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Clarke.
Kenshi takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Kenshi's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Clarke scores with a head kick. Kenshi tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Oz Clarke is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Clarke connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Clarke looks to land a combination. Kenshi sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

and Clarke counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Good leg kick by Clarke there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Clarke works over Kenshi's head and body with a nice combination.
Clarke is working the combinations to good effect here.
Sloppy strikes from Clarke. Those never looked like landing.
A head kick from Clarke lands but Kenshi takes it in his stride.
Clarke goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Kenshi shoots in but Clarke avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Clarke throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oz Clarke dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kenshi with a poor takedown
and Clarke counters with a head kick. That will keep Kenshi thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Clarke throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Kenshi's head.

Clarke lands a head kick. Kenshi smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Clarke is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kenshi can do to turn this around?

Clarke works over Kenshi's head and body with a nice combination.
Clarke misses with a few strikes there.
Kenshi has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Clarke.
That kick from Clarke tenderised Kenshi's leg. Kenshi is trying to keep his angry face on.
Clarke shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kenshi eats them both and turns towards Clarke to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Clarke feints a jab promting Kenshi to slip. Clarke then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kenshi slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Kenshi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Clarke pushes Kenshi away with a front kick.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Clarke.
Kenshi takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Oz Clarke is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Clarke works over Kenshi's head and body with a nice combination.

Clarke lands with a kick to the temple. Kenshi shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Clarke lets loose with a powerful body kick. Kenshi will feel that in the morning.
Kenshi has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Clarke lands with an overhand left.
Kenshi shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clarke but Clarke pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Clarke turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Clarke comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Clarke feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kenshi's calf.
Kenshi on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Clarke. Clarke obviously looking to wear him down.
Clarke is looking to wear down Kenshi with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Clarke punishes Kenshi's body with a nice straight punch.

Kenshi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Clarke throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kenshi.
Clarke works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Clarke throws a nice looking combination but Kenshi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Clarke stalks Kenshi and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Kenshi's face. Kenshi staggers backwards, shaken.

Kenshi closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Clarke did well to prevent Kenshi getting side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Clarke wants to get back to his feet.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Kenshi trying to mount his opponent but Clarke defends it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Clarke's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Kenshi darts in trying to clinch
and Clarke counters with a series of strikes. Kenshi will be more careful next time no doubt.
Clarke darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Kenshi takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Kenshi tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Clarke tries to bum rush Kenshi with a series of wild strikes but Kenshi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Clarke misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kenshi has managed to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Clarke breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Clarke looks to land a combination but Kenshi avoids it well.

Clarke misses with a series of wild punches.

Kenshi tries to close the distance and clinch but Clarke swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kenshi shoots for a double leg takedown but Clarke sprawls well. He's pushed Kenshi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Clarke lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Kenshi has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.

Clarke throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kenshi.

Clarke fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kenshi.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kenshi is defended easily by Clarke.
Oz Clarke has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Movado Kenshi.

Clarke moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Clarke lands a leg kick that knocks Kenshi off balance momentarily.
Clarke rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kenshi moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Clarke pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Kenshi shoots in for a double leg but Clarke sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Clarke looks to land a combination. Kenshi sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

And that's the end of the fight!
Oz Clarke showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clarke, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
