Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sigmar Magnusson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmond Honda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magnusson kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Go Go Godzilla - Blue Oyster Cult. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magnusson keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Honda.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Magnusson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Honda.
Honda does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Honda's jab looks to have found its range, popping Magnusson under the eye.

No joy there for Honda, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Honda tries to kick Magnusson off but Magnusson keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Magnusson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Honda defends it well.
Magnusson is just content to waste time from the top position. Honda takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Magnusson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Honda is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Honda has escaped and now he's on top!

Edmond Honda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Magnusson is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Magnusson is trying to drag Honda to the mat but Honda just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Magnusson tightens his grip and picks Honda up, before dumping him to the ground. Honda manages to land in guard.
Magnusson tries to free his leg and advance position but Honda is retaining full guard.

Magnussonis looking to pass into half guard but Honda pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Honda is in guard.

Magnusson is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Honda defends well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Magnusson has his foot on Honda's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Honda works his way back into a safe position though.
Edmond Honda is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Honda seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Sigmar Magnusson.
I think Honda has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
