PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Krzysztof Szariskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seppo Saurio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Szariskis comes to the cage accompanied by 'Sonne' by Rammstein. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saurio avoids the head kick by Szariskis.
Saurio loads up on a big right hand but Szariskis slips the punch.

Szariskis is rocked!

It looks like Krzysztof Szariskis has been cut.

Saurio is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Szariskis is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Szariskis has escaped and now he's on top!
Oh Szariskis is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saurio bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Szariskis's guard.

Szariskis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Saurio is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Szariskis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Saurio's back instead.

Saurio is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Szariskis decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Szariskis is pressing down on Saurio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Saurio is holding on for now.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Szariskis counters with a nice low kick that buckles Saurio's knee momentarily.

Saurio throws a lazy right hand but Szariskis sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Saurio throws a series of punches but Szariskis avoids them all with ease.

Saurio is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Szariskis has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Szariskis closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Saurio wants to free his trapped foot but Szariskis is holding on for dear life with his legs.
