Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Martaza Gazafi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Vasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gazafi on the wrong end of a nice jab.
It looks like Martaza Gazafi has been cut.

Vasquez wants to get back to his feet but Gazafi drags him back down.
Gazafi remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Gazafi has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Vasquez clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gazafi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Vasquez drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gazafi pulls his leg out and moves away.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Vasquez is looking to stand up but Gazafi isn't so interested in that idea.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Vasquez has Gazafi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Gazafi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Vasquez jumps guard but Gazafi stands there with Vasquez around his waist. Vasquez gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Gazafi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
