PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Drandt Bavis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Z (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bavis comes to the cage accompanied by When I'm Gone. Z has chosen Haters as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bavis swats away the attempt to clinch by Z.

Z on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Z clobbers Bavis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Z tries to bum rush Bavis with a series of wild strikes but Bavis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Z has managed to clinch.

Z has Bavis pressed against the cage, preventing Bavis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Bavis is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Z pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Z lands a left hand that snaps the head of Bavis backwards.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Z tries to clinch up but Bavis circles away and keeps his distance.
A clash of legs there as Z blocks the low kick.
Z looks to land a combination but Bavis avoids it well.

Z throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Bavis connects with a solid leg kick.
Z throws the left hand but Bavis avoids the punch easily.
Bavis gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Z wants to clinch
and Bavis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Z gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bavis to score an easy takedown into full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Z tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Z wants to stand and escape but Bavis is having none of it.

That was a close round but I would say that Drandt Bavis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Z throws a looping overhand right but Bavis ducks down to avoid it.

Bavis has a takedown stuffed.

Z throws a series of strikes that have Bavis backpedaling.

It looks like Drandt Bavis has been cut.

Bavis throws a sloppy head kick and Z moves out of range easily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Z throws a right hand that Bavis ducks under and follows up with a left that Bavis also avoids with ease.

Bavis dives in and grabs Z's left leg, looking for a takedown. Z pushes down on Bavis's head and hops out.

Oooooh!!! Z has knocked Bavis down with a huge combo! Z steps away and waves a wobbly Bavis back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Bavis is rocked!
Z lands an uppercut, right on the button! Bavis tumbles backwards into the cage, staring vacantly into space! He's got no idea where he is, who he is or what day it is... Poor guy.
