The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dir rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Ikeda moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Ikeda fails to land with a series of punches.
Dir looks to throw the jab but Ikeda is out of range.
Ikeda misses with a combination
and Dir counters with a stiff right hand.
Dir lands a nice looking body shot.
Ikeda misses with an uppercut.
Dir connects with the punch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ikeda throws a right hand that misses
and Dir counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Ikeda clobbers Dir with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looks like Shawn Dir has been cut.
Ikeda just misses with a punch to the body.
Ikeda swings for the body but Dir moves out of range.

A jab from Dir finds it's way through Ikeda's defenses.

Dir throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Ikeda on the side of the head.
Dir is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Ikeda looks to land a combination but Dir avoids it well.
Dir throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ikeda stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Ikeda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Dir takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

Dir cracks Ikeda with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Ikeda lands a left and a right that send Dir crashing to the mat, dazed. Ikeda thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

Dir fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Ikeda looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Dir is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Dir tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ikeda was well out of range. Poor timing from Dir.
Dir digs a good hook to Ikeda's body.
Ikeda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dir.
Dir swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Ikeda makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
