Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Cortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Primo Self (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Self tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cortez paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cortez looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Self wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Cortez takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Joseph Cortez has been cut.

Oooooh!!! Self has knocked Cortez down with a huge combo! Self steps away and waves a wobbly Cortez back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Cortez is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Self lands a jab to Cortez's midsection.
Self digs a good body shot into Cortez's ribs.
Self will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Self fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Cortez manages to avoid it.
Self rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cortez moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Self slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Oh Cortez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Self cracks Cortez with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Self has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Cortez to stand back up!

Joseph Cortez's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Cortez slips a jab and a cross from Self.
Cortez seems to have got his legs back now.
Primo Self is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Self throws a low kick but Cortez avoids it.
Self displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.

Jeez, Joseph Cortez's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Self just misses with a punch to the body.
Cortez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Self looks to land a combination. Cortez sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Joseph Cortez's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
