Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Hasell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Max Riley has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trevor Hasell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Max Riley!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Hasell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Riley fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Hasell to the ground. Riley is now in Hasell's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hasell working for a triangle but Riley defends it easily.
Hasell being controlled here, momentarily.
It looks like Riley might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Max Riley.

Riley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hasell wants to hold on but Riley pushes him away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Max Riley hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hasell looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Hasell shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

and Riley counters by moving into the clinch.
Hasell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Riley fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Riley counters with a nice body shot.
Hasell is breathing heavily.
Hasell tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Riley looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Riley perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Riley throws a leg kick but Hasell sees it coming and moves out of range.
Riley takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hasell misses with a takedown
and Riley counters with a left and a right that stings Hasell.
Riley swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hasell is defended easily by Riley.

Riley clinches up against the cage.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Riley stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Hasell wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trevor Hasell. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Riley grinds an elbow into Hasell's temple.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Riley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hasell to his feet.

Riley drives through with a takedown into guard.
Riley is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Hasell throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Riley escapes and throws Hasell's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Riley content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Riley decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Riley closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Riley lands in his opponent's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Riley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Riley tries to free his leg and advance position but Hasell is retaining full guard.
Hasell is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Riley slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Trevor Hasell.
Hasell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Riley swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hasell trying to hold on to Riley's head to control him but Riley postures up.
Max Riley is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Hasell is looking for a sweep. Riley is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Well Riley has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
