Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andrew Newton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison comes to the cage accompanied by Alive. Newton has chosen Hurt - T.I. as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Morrison at a distance.
Newton throws a push kick but Morrison slaps the foot to one side.
Morrison throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A low kick from Newton is predictable there
and Morrison counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Sloppy strikes from Morrison. Those never looked like landing.
Morrison throws a left and a right that both miss
and Newton counters with a slapping leg kick.

Newton closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Morrison blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

It looks like Tommy Morrison has been cut.
Newton tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Morrison's elbow.

Morrison breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Morrison throws out a loose jab but Newton uses good head movement to avoid it.

Morrison's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
