PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Wiggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Tiyrikan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mr Tiyrikan!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Fedor Mirinova and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiggins falls off balance throwing a combination
and Tiyrikan counters with a series of strikes. Wiggins will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tiyrikan lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Wiggins at a distance.
Tiyrikan looks to clinch
and Wiggins counters with a body kick.
Tiyrikan tries for a takedown but Wiggins circles away easily

and Wiggins counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tiyrikan won't be happy with that.
Tiyrikan looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Wiggins thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tiyrikan is trying to control Wiggins's posture but Wiggins avoids it.
Tiyrikan tries to escape but Wiggins is in control.
Wiggins tries to move into full mount but can't pass Tiyrikan's legs.

Wiggins stands up.

Wiggins drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wiggins keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Tiyrikan's head.

Wiggins gets to his feet - Tiyrikan follows without any prompting.

Wiggins shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Tiyrikan napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Tiyrikan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wiggins wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Wiggins has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Tiyrikan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Wiggins fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tiyrikan to the ground. Wiggins is now in Tiyrikan's guard.

Wiggins stops Tiyrikan from standing up.

Tiyrikan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wiggins wants to pass the guard but Tiyrikan is keeping the position.

Tiyrikan had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Wiggins defends it easily.
Wiggins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Wiggins's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tiyrikan throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Wiggins trying to control the position from guard on top but Tiyrikan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Wiggins has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Tiyrikan to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Wiggins is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Tiyrikan pulls down on the head and he's put Wiggins to sleep! This one is all over!
