Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Junior Johns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stevie Reyes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Johns's entrance music is Welcome to the jungle. A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Reyes's choice of entrance music: All the Above. Stevie Reyes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stevie Reyes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes scores with the left hand. Johns knows he should have avoided that one.
Reyes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reyes ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johns moves away.
Johns dodges the punch combination from Reyes.
Johns looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Reyes is fending him off so far but Johns persists. Nope, Reyes circles away and we're back to standing.
Reyes swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Johns doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Reyes fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Johns manages to avoid it.

Reyes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johns.
Reyes will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Johns tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reyes swivels and escapes.
Reyes thuds a left hand into Johns's body.

Johns throws a sloppy head kick and Reyes moves out of range easily.

Reyes goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Johns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Reyes manages to avoid it.

Johns throws a leg kick but Reyes checks it.
Reyes scores with a nice strike.
Reyes tries to bum rush Johns with a series of wild strikes but Johns uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Reyes throws a body punch but Johns moves out of range.

No joy there for Reyes, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Johns takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Johns moves away from the strike by Reyes.
Stevie Reyes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Johns manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Reyes on his heels. He'll look to pass Reyes's guard now, I'm sure.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Reyes can do anything to dispel that myth.

Stevie Reyes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Reyes has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
