Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jim Dangle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andres Machete (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dangle kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga. Machete has chosen Sandstorm - Darude as his entrance music. Jim Dangle has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machete throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dangle counters with a leg kick.

and Dangle holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Machete is trying to push Dangle away but Dangle has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Machete wants the takedown. Dangle is fighting it off but Machete persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Dangle's guard against the cage.

Dangle's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Machete is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

Dangle will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Dangle seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Machete for as long as he can get away with.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Machete can do anything to dispel that myth.

Machete looks to land a combination but Dangle avoids it well.
Machete stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Machete wants it to stay on the feet.
Machete fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Dangle is out of range.

Machete lands a head shot.
Machete misses with a straight left.
Machete swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Machete throws a sloppy head kick and Dangle moves out of range easily.

Machete throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dangle is defended easily by Machete.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dangle has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Machete is squirming around, avoiding Dangle's attempts to control the action.

Dangle won't let Machete get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jim Dangle just wasn't active enough.
Machete throws a hook to the side of Dangle's head but Dangle sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Andres Machete seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No luck for Dangle with that takedown attempt.
Machete fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dangle.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jim Dangle will probably get the nod.

Dangle shoots in looking for a takedown. Machete tries to sprawl out of it but Dangle keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Machete manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
