The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pace looking to score a takedown here. Marchione is defending well but Pace drives through and ends up in Marchione's guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

No joy there for Pace, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Pace closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Marchione to the mat! Marchione manages to get full guard.

Pace is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Marchione is just riding it out for now. Pace eventually gives up the hold.
