Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Tempest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Rzaner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rzaner has chosen Notorious B.I.G Vs. Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Biggie Love as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Paul Tempest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Rzaner!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rzaner circles away from the clinch attempt.
Rzaner blocks a head kick by Tempest.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tempest looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tempest throws a sloppy head kick

and Rzaner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Tempest won't be happy with that.

Rzaner decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Tempest pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Tempest throws a head kick that Rzaner semi-blocks.


It looks like Shane Rzaner has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tempest misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tempest with a lazy takedown attempt

and Rzaner decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Tempest's guard.
Rzaner is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rzaner won't allow Tempest to get back to his feet.

Rzaner not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Shane Rzaner was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Tempest tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rzaner paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tempest misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Rzaner counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Tempest!
Rzaner controlling the pace for now.

Tempest wants to try and get back to his feet.

Rzaner is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tempest has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tempest!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Tempest decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Rzaner, up you get!
Rzaner looks gassed!
Tempest is looking to clinch but Rzaner is avoiding it.

Tempest pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rzaner fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tempest to the ground. Rzaner is now in Tempest's guard.
Rzaner looking to sit in guard and control but Tempest gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tempest gets to his feet. Rzaner looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Tempest throws a head kick but Rzaner moves out of range.

and Rzaner counters with a shoot takedown. Tempest fights it but they end up in guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tempest wants to stand and escape but Rzaner is having none of it.
Rzaner tries to free his leg and advance position but Tempest is retaining full guard.

Tempest wants to stand but Rzaner is controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tempest fakes the leg kick and cracks Rzaner in the body.
Shane Rzaner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rzaner blocks the body kick.
Paul Tempest seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tempest throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tempest closes the distance and clinches up with Rzaner, looking for a takedown. Tempest pushes Rzaner against the cage but Rzaner circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tempest tries to clinch up but Rzaner circles away and keeps his distance.
Rzaner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Tempest as he avoids it easily.
Tempest connects with a high kick.
A head kick from Tempest lands but Rzaner takes it in his stride.
Rzaner is breathing heavily.
Nice defenses there by Rzaner.
Tempest misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Tempest uses the cage to get back to his feet.

and Rzaner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rzaner wants to pass the guard but Tempest is keeping the position.

Tempest wants to stand but Rzaner is controlling the position.
Rzaner looking to sit in guard and control but Tempest gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Tempest loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tempest wants to stand but Rzaner has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Tempest stands up and waves to Rzaner to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tempest shoots in looking for a takedown but Rzaner manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tempest's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Tempest lands a front kick.
Tempest lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Tempest misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Tempest scores with a kick to the midsection.
Tempest throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Tempest closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rzaner to the mat! Rzaner manages to get full guard.

Tempest stands up from Rzaner's guard - Tempest perhaps looking for a knockout.

Tempest with a poor takedown

and Rzaner holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Tempest. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rzaner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tempest is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Rzaner avoids the elbow strike from Tempest, against the cage.
Tempest connects with a nasty looking knee right to Rzaner's face.
Tempest looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Rzaner has Tempest pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Rzaner pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tempest tumbling to the mat - Rzaner dives into Tempest's guard.
Tempest wants to stand up but Rzaner is controlling him.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rzaner wants to get up but he can't break Tempest's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Tempest throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Rzaner.
Tempest doesn't manage to clinch there - Rzaner circles away.
Tempest tries to clinch but Rzaner is having none of it.
Whack! Tempest lands a heavy head kick that drops Rzaner. The ref tackles Tempest to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Rzaner was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Head Kick). Paul Tempest!
