Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Logan Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Guy Mezger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mezger scores with a one two! Lawson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

It looks like Logan Lawson has been cut.
Mezger shoots in looking for a takedown. Lawson tries to sprawl out of it but Mezger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lawson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Lawson throws a front kick that sends Mezger stumbling back into the cage.
Mezger takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

It looks like Guy Mezger has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Mezger throws a combination that misses
enabling Lawson to counter with a crisp jab.
Mezger misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Mezger wants to clinch but Lawson slips to the side
and Lawson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Mezger thinking.
A swing and a miss from Lawson.
Lawson darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lawson misses with a lunging right hand
and Mezger counters with a one-two to the body.
Lawson fakes the leg kick and cracks Mezger in the body.
Mezger throws a body punch but Lawson moves out of range.
Mezger closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lawson counters with a nice body shot.
Mezger looks gassed!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mezger feints a jab promting Lawson to slip. Mezger then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Lawson slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lawson keeps the fight on the outside.
Mezger staying out of range there.
Lawson scores with a nice head shot.
Mezger fails with an attempt to clinch.
Lawson scores with a push kick.
Mezger keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A solid leg kick lands there for Lawson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A lazy left from Lawson finds it's target.
Lawson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Lawson lands a nice shot that snaps Mezger's head back.

Lawson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mezger.
Lawson misses with a hook.
Mezger takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Lawson sizes up Mezger with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lawson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mezger.
Logan Lawson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Lawson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Lawson bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Mezger takes a jab right on the kisser.
Lawson throws a hook to the side of Mezger's head but Mezger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Mezger is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lawson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Logan Lawson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Guy Mezger.

Lawson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Mezger sprawling to the canvas! Mezger rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Lawson finish him?!

Mezger is rocked!
Lawson punishes Mezger's body with a nice straight punch.
Mezger stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Lawson.

Lawson scores with a leg kick.
Lawson lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Mezger at a distance.
Mezger takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Mezger is trying desperately to land a takedown but Lawson is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Mezger.
Mezger takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mezger is still on wobbly legs! Can Lawson finish him?
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lawson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mezger stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mezger avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Mezger seems to have recovered his senses.
Mezger walks straight into a right hand from Lawson - that's dropped him! Lawson jumps into mount and starts pounding away - can he finish?! More strikes go undefended and the referee has to dive in to save Mezger from any more punishment! Mezger complains about the stoppage but falls over as he tries to stand back up, so it was clearly a good stoppage.
