Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ken Maddox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marshall Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mason forces Maddox back against the cage and clinches.
Maddox is trying to push Mason away but Mason has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Mason swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Maddox has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mason is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Mason is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Maddox is defending well for now.
Mason using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Maddox has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Mason just misses with a punch to the body.
Mason shoots for a takedown but Maddox saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Mason shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Maddox but Maddox pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mason tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Maddox paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Ken Maddox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marshall Mason.

Maddox feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
