The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Funny takes a swing at Marlin's ribcage but misses.
Marlin tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Funny counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Funny thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Funny tries to pass the half guard into mount. Marlin knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Marlin is looking to improve his position.
Funny slows the pace down in half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Funny connects with a nice short shot to Marlin's temple.

Funny is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Funny lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

It looks like Zech Marlin has been cut.

Funny jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Marlin manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Marlin takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Funny misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Funny just content to control the position.
Marlin wants to get back to his feet but Funny drags him back down.
Marlin looks gassed!
Marlin is letting Funny control him for a moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Funny in side control lands a decent elbow.
Funny remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Funny advances to full mount.
Funny breaks from Marlin's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Funny takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Marlin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Funny. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Funny fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Funny cracks Marlin with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Funny sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Funny has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Funny has control of Marlin's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Marlin regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Funny lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Marlin hang on?

That has opened up Zech Marlin's cut even more.

A big strike lands for Funny! That's really hurt Marlin and he's turned his back - Funny keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Funny jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
