Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paulo Mendosa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Manny Pacquiao (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pacquiao has chosen Its Time for War as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendosa wants to clinch
and Pacquiao counters with a stiff right hand.
Mendosa shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pacquiao as he jumps to the side.
Mendosa steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pacquiao.
Mendosa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pacquiao manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Mendosa wants to clinch but Pacquiao slips to the side
and Pacquiao connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Pacquiao scores with a jab. Mendosa acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Pacquiao lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mendosa circles away quickly and effectively.
Mendosa tries to clinch but Pacquiao moves out of range.

Pacquiao misses with a hook.
Mendosa throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pacquiao circles away from the clinch attempt
and Pacquiao counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Good exchange - Pacquiao coming out on top.
Mendosa jabbing away but nothing is landing.

No luck for Mendosa with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paulo Mendosa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mendosa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pacquiao sprawls well. Pacquiao wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mendosa gets slowly back to his feet.
Pacquiao misses with a hook. Mendosa ducked under it nicely.

Mendosa shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Pacquiao defends it nicely.

Mendosa closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Pacquiao quickly recovers to half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Mendosa is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Mendosa is working for a guillotine from mount but Pacquiao frees his head quite easily.
Pacquiao really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mendosa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mendosa is landing with some decent strikes but Pacquiao is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

Pacquiao is desperately trying to improve his position but Mendosa has a good base and remains in mount.
Mendosa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mendosa quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Mendosa but it's paid off an Pacquiao is forced to tap! Nice work by Mendosa.
