The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McNasty shoots in and bounces Santos off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
McNasty trying to control the position from guard on top but Santos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
McNasty controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Santos is looking for a triangle but McNasty pushes his legs off easily.
Santos looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

McNasty trying to control but Santos is working from the bottom.
McNasty slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

McNasty seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
McNasty wants to control from the top but Santos keeps moving.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frankie McNasty just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Santos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McNasty pinned against the cage. McNasty gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Santos shoots for a takedown but McNasty saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McNasty throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Joey Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

McNasty shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Santos's guard.

Santos escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McNasty gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McNasty postures up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
A combination from Santos does no damage.

McNasty scores a takedown into full mount!
McNasty takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Santos is in all sorts of trouble here.

Santos wants to hold on but McNasty pushes him away.
McNasty trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Santos tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Santos wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Santos tries to escape but McNasty has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Santos breaks McNasty's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
Santos tries to free his leg and advance position but McNasty is retaining full guard.

Santos is looking to take a break and control but McNasty is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Santos creates some space and throws a big elbow, but McNasty sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
McNasty regains half guard.

McNasty kicks off Santos and gets to his feet.

McNasty shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

McNasty stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Santos throws a half hearted mid kick.

McNasty drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McNasty just content to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Santos gets back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McNasty working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Santos is looking for a sweep. McNasty is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

McNasty drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
McNasty cracks Santos with a big elbow.
Santos manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
McNasty slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

McNasty has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Santos should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, McNasty has tightened it up now! Santos should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
