The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Griffin doesn't succeed with the takedown

so Fullton counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Fullton avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Fullton is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Griffin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fullton fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Griffin to the ground. Fullton is now in Griffin's guard.

Griffin is working an open guard so Fullton takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Chris Griffin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Fullton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Griffin won't be happy with that.
Griffin tries to buck Fullton off but Fullton is having none of it.

Fullton winds up and cracks Griffin with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Fullton shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Griffin napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Fullton got a little sloppy there for a moment and Griffin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Fullton has managed to get both his arms back between Griffin's legs - danger averted.
Griffin has momentary wrist control but Fullton slips an elbow through the middle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Griffin has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Fullton. Oh but Griffin has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Fullton goes limp - he's gone! Griffin jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
