Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pauli Laiskiainen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Be Bob!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Matti Vanhoillinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laiskiainen changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bob tries to avoid it but Laiskiainen manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bob to the ground. Bob escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Laiskiainen stuffs the takedown attempt from Bob. Bob gets slowly back to his feet.
Laiskiainen wants to clinch.
Bob fails with an attempt to clinch.

Laiskiainen rushes Bob and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Laiskiainen is looking to break free of the clinch but Bob has double underhooks.
Laiskiainen prevents a takedown attempt there.
Bob drops down looking for an ankle pick but Laiskiainen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Pauli Laiskiainen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Be Bob.
Bob misses with the combination.
Laiskiainen throws a series of punches but Bob avoids them all with ease.

Laiskiainen closes the distance and clinches.
Laiskiainen can't get the takedown.
Laiskiainen is looking to break free of the clinch but Bob has double underhooks.
Laiskiainen can't break the clinch.
Laiskiainen throws a head punch that misses.
Bob misses with some punches.
Bob has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Laiskiainen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
A short right from Laiskiainen.
Bob stalls.

Bob breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bob is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Laiskiainen closes the distance but Bob moves to the side

and Bob counters by moving into the clinch.
Laiskiainen swings wildly with an uppercut but Bob uses good head movement to avoid it.
Laiskiainen tries to break the clinch but Bob is controlling the position.
Laiskiainen wants to break free but Bob has control.
Bob has Laiskiainen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Laiskiainen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Laiskiainen lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Bob breaks the clinch.
Laiskiainen clinches but Bob breaks the clinch
and Bob counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Laiskiainen is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Bob looks gassed!
Laiskiainen closes the distance but Bob moves to the side
and Bob counters with a nice kick to the body.
Laiskiainen clinches but Bob breaks the clinch

and Bob counters with a takedown into side control.
Bob wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laiskiainen keeps working.
Bob might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Laiskiainen kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Laiskiainen stops Bob from passing to mount.
Laiskiainen tries to escape but Bob is in control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bob wants to stand but Laiskiainen has his arm trapped.
Laiskiainen is not content to let Bob control the position.
Bob controlling the position from side mount.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Bob looks for a takedown but Laiskiainen sprawls well.
Laiskiainen darts in trying to clinch
and Bob counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Laiskiainen is lucky that one didn't land flush.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Bob clinches up against the cage.
Bob tries for a takedown but Laiskiainen manages to get underhooks.
Bob connects with a nasty looking knee right to Laiskiainen's face.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Bob manages to break the clinch.
Laiskiainen tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Bob counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Bob not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bob trying to control the position from guard on top but Laiskiainen is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Laiskiainen is working an open guard so Bob takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Laiskiainen has Bob up against the cage in a clinch.
Bob tries for a takedown but Laiskiainen manages to get underhooks.
Bob changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Laiskiainen fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Laiskiainen gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bob scores a nice knee to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Come on Bob - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Laiskiainen lands a right hand that snaps the head of Bob backwards.

Bob manages to break the clinch.
Pauli Laiskiainen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laiskiainen clinches but Bob breaks the clinch

and Bob counters by clinching up.
Bob wants a takedown but no success here.

Bob breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Laiskiainen feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Bob sprawling to the canvas! Bob rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Laiskiainen finish him?!


Bob is rocked!


It looks like Be Bob has been cut.
Laiskiainen tries to clinch up

and Bob counters by clinching up.
Laiskiainen scores with a nice hook to the head.

Bob breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Bob shoots in for a takedown but Laiskiainen shows good takedown defense.
Bob staying out of range there.
Laiskiainen scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Laiskiainen lands with a right that hurts Bob. Bob looks to clinch but Laiskiainen throws a short knee that drops Bob. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Pauli Laiskiainen!
