Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thor Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Squire Thompson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Squire Thompson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Armstrong will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Thompson up against the cage.

Armstrong escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Armstrong fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Thompson, pushing him back against the cage.
Thompson wants a takedown but no success here.

Armstrong breaks the clinch.

Armstrong gets a clinch.
Armstrong creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Thompson's defenses.
Thompson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Armstrong walks away with a smile on his face. Thompson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A lazy left from Thompson finds it's target.
Thompson throws a head kick but Armstrong moves out of range.
A punch combination from Thompson misses.

Armstrong forces Thompson back against the cage and clinches.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Armstrong has Thompson pushed against the cage.

Armstrong lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Thompson is defending against the submission attempts here by Armstrong.

Armstrong fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Armstrong tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Armstrong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
