PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Bradsted (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Hannedy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bradsted comes into the arena with Dawn of Demise - ...and blood will flow blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kenneth Bradsted!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Walter Hannedy!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Edson Gomes and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bradsted throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Hannedy stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bradsted lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Hannedy shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Bradsted lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Bradsted thows a body shot but no joy.
Bradsted misses with a body shot.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hannedy is defended easily by Bradsted.
Good work by Hannedy as he checks the leg kick.
Hannedy fails to land the takedown.
Kenneth Bradsted has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Hannedy.

Hannedy shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bradsted defends it nicely.
Hannedy uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Bradsted.
Hannedy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bradsted's waist but Bradsted gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hannedy off to one side.
Bradsted throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hannedy shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bradsted pinned against the cage. Bradsted gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Hannedy shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Bradsted manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bradsted is looking to stand up but Hannedy isn't so interested in that idea.
Hannedy trying to control but Bradsted is working from the bottom.
Bradsted is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Bradsted prevents Hannedy from improving his position.

Hannedy is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bradsted wants to get back to his feet.
Hannedy is positioning himself well to prevent Bradsted advancing to mount.

Bradsted is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hannedy sees it coming and defends easily.
Hannedy tries to get to full guard but Bradsted has control of the leg.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bradsted is pressing down on Hannedy's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hannedy is holding on for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Hannedy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bradsted is fending him off so far but Hannedy persists. Nope, Bradsted circles away and we're back to standing.

and Bradsted counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Hannedy decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bradsted holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Bradsted wants to get back to his feet.

Hannedy is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bradsted is just riding it out for now. Hannedy eventually gives up the hold.
Bradsted is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hannedy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hannedy's back!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Bradsted controlling the positon.

A lull in the action here.
Hannedy turns into Bradsted and is now in his guard.
Hannedy trying to control the position from guard on top but Bradsted is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bradsted has control of Hannedy's left arm, preventing Hannedy from doing any damage.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kenneth Bradsted.
Bradsted connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Bradsted throws a push kick but Hannedy slaps the foot to one side.
A head kick from Bradsted lands but Hannedy takes it in his stride.

Hannedy throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Bradsted fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Hannedy has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hannedy closes the distance and clinches up with Bradsted, looking for a takedown. Hannedy pushes Bradsted against the cage but Bradsted circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Bradsted stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Bradsted wants it to stay on the feet.

Hannedy shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bradsted but Bradsted pushes him off and we're back to square one.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bradsted is controlling Hannedy's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Bradsted is trying to maintain the position but Hannedy is very close to passing his half guard.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bradsted, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
