Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Willis Alves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, George Ang!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Lou da Vinci and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves throws an overhand right that lands on Ang's shoulder, as Ang tries to avoid the shot.
No luck for Ang with that takedown attempt.
Ang tries to close the distance and clinch up but Alves swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Alves is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ang.
Alves misses with a combination
and Ang counters with a three punch combo that has Alves backing up. Alves nods at Ang to acknowledge the strikes.
Ang bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Alves misses the shot to the body.
Ang keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Willis Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice shot lands for Alves.
Alves throws a jab but it's blocked by Ang.
Alves just misses with a punch to the body.
A looping hook to the body misses from Alves. Ang does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ang ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alves loads up on a big right hand but Ang slips the punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alves tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ang was well out of range. Poor timing from Alves.
Ang tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Alves manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Alves lands with a hook. Ang tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Ang defending well as Alves loads up on a big left hand.
Ang ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Alves misses with a wild body shot.
Ang uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Alves.
Alves misses with a straight right.
Alves misses with a right hand

and Ang counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Alves's guard now.
Alves manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ang tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Alves landing shots from mount.
Ang is wriggling around trying to escape.

Alves lands a nice shot to the head.
Alves prevents Ang from getting the reversal.
Ang takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.


Ang is rocked!
Alves looking to control and managing it successfully.
Ang is still in real trouble! Can Alves finish him?
Ang can't escape the position.
Ang seems to have recovered his senses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alves landing strikes from the mount and Ang is in trouble!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alves looking to control and managing it successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Alves lands a big elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Willis Alves dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Alves fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ang manages to avoid it.
Nice straight punches there by Alves. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Alves.
Alves throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Ang counter with a right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Alves, as that shot connected.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Ang, right into the meat.
Ang gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Alves gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Ang is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Willis Alves!
