Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jamal Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jan Van Hentelaaar!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Mauricio Rocha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson drives through with a takedown into Hentelaaar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Jackson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hentelaaar, who protects the arm well.

Hentelaaar tries to lock up and control but Jackson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Hentelaaar has eaten all the pies!

Jackson throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Hentelaaar because Jackson loaded up on that one.

It looks like Jan Van Hentelaaar has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Jackson has control of Hentelaaar's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Hentelaaar regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Jackson gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Hentelaaar tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jackson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hentelaaar on the side of the head.


The cut above Jan Van Hentelaaar's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Jackson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jackson lands in his opponent's guard.

Jackson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Jackson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Hentelaaar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jackson manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hentelaaar is aware though and is defending well.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hentelaaar is trying to get an arm triangle but Jackson is defending well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jackson throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hentelaaar.
Hentelaaar moves in looking to clinch but Jackson pushes him off.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson lands a nice looking body shot.

Hentelaaar gets caught napping as Jackson dives in and scores a takedown. Hentelaaar manages to retain guard.

Jan Van Hentelaaar's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jan Van Hentelaaar's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
