PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Vladimir Hais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronan Hollace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hais comes to the cage accompanied by Time to Say Goodbye by Bocelli & Brightman. The crowd seem to be enjoying Hollace's choice of entrance music: Outside by Staind. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 1, fighting out of London, Vladimir Hais!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Ronan Hollace!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hais fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hollace feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Hais trying to keep a closed guard but Hollace is proving a slippery customer.

Hais has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hollace can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hais utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Hais pulls Hollace in close to prevent any damage.
Hollace preventing the sweep.

Hais is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hollace tries to free his leg and advance position but Hais is retaining full guard.
Hais manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Hais swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hollace is now in Hais's guard. A big mistake from Hais there, giving up the dominant position!

Hais looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hollace looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hais trying to hold on to Hollace's head to control him but Hollace postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hais manages to get to full guard.

Hais is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hais is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Hais lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Hollace!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hais working the ground and pound effectively.
Hais will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Hais lands a heavy elbow.

Hollace tries to hold on but Hais pushes him away.
Hais really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hais prevents Hollace from getting the reversal.

Hais goes for an armbar but Hollace turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Hollace.

Hollace wants to control from the top but Hais keeps moving.
Hais manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Hollace tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Hollace avoids a series of strikes thrown by Hais.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hollace is working to get back to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladimir Hais dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A combination from Hais does no damage.
Hais avoids the body shot from Hollace.
Hollace with a nice cross.
Hollace throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hais is defended easily by Hollace.
Vladimir Hais is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hollace misses with a looping left.
Hollace misses with a wild combination.
Hais staying out of range there.
Hais closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hais takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Hais bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Hais tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hollace is not content to let Hais control the position.
Hollace is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hollace can't do much from the bottom here.

Hais in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Hollace is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
